LGBTQIA+ Lecture Series
Each year, we invite a prominent speaker to campus to deliver the William R. Johnson Guestship, an annual forum on the issues and stories of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
If you’re interested in studying LGBTQIA+ issues, explore the concentration in LGBTQ Studies through the Intercultural Studies Program. It’s an opportunity to engage in critical analysis of contemporary issues within the intersections of gender and sexuality.
True Colors Community
Initiated by students, the True Colors Community is designed to support students who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. This on-campus housing option consists entirely of facilities that are not gender-specific, including all rooms and bathrooms.
Campus Resources and Support
On campus, a strong network of individuals and offices offers the support you need. For example:
- SAFE (Staff, Administrators and Faculty for Equality) offers a strong, confidential support network for the LGBTQIA+ community.
- The Office of Diversity and Inclusion fosters a supportive and inclusive campus environment through special events and other activities.
- The Wellness Center provides counseling and other services for LGBTQIA+ students.
- The College Chaplaincy offers support for students in times of transition.
